Kathmandu's hoarding board removed

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started removing the boarding boards placed in various places in Kathmandu. The metropolis has started removing the hoardings by mobilizing police from Friday.


On Friday, the boarding board of Maitighar, Bijuli Bazaar, Nave Baneshwor, Tinkune and Sohrakhutel were removed, said Dhanapati Sapkota, chief of the police branch of the metropolis. He said that the removal of the hoarding board would be continued. 2072 bhadau On 16th, a joint session of the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Kalyan Shrestha and Judge Omprakash Misra, was directed to remove the boarding board in Kathmandu.

The order of the Supreme Court was to remove the contents of commercial boards, murals, posters, pumps, etc. in the metropolitan area. But after a long time, the Supreme Court's order was not implemented.The metropolitan area has been active since the contempt case was filed. The metropolis had directed the concerned party to remove the boards giving the ultimatum of 7 days 2 weeks ago.

Lightning poles were not removed
In some areas, hoarding boards have been set up with the permission of the metropolis, and the Nepal Electricity Authority has given permission to hang the advertising boards at the polling stations.

A few years ago, the authority on electricity polls had called for tender and put ad boards on it. But after the passage of the new Advertising Act, all of them have become illegal.

But on Friday, the ad board, which was placed on wire-laden poles, was not removed by the metropolis. Metropolitan Mayor Vidyasundar Shakya said that the removal of unauthorized boards has been initiated immediately, but some of those who have completed the legal process will be asked to be removed after discussion.

Detection of pamphlet adhesive
The metropolis has started arresting poster-pamphlet adhesives from Friday. Only 10 people were arrested on Friday. 

City Superintendent of Police Sapkota informed that the Valley has paid 10,000 fines to Chawhill Valley and to Kathmandu when the employer paid the fine of 5,000.

According to him, the municipality has also fined St Xavier's and Goldengate MultiPerpose five thousand five thousand. He said the fine of Rs 58,000 was taken from those arrested on Friday.
